Who Will be Taking Care of Your Horse?

Peyton & Anne Hamilton have owned & operated Cedar Lake
Stables since 1996. Both live & work on the property full time.

PEYTON

Peyton has had 30 + years of equine experience beginning as a
groom and working his way to assistant trainer to some of the
world's best trainers of American Saddlebreds. Learning
caretaking skills prior to becoming a head trainer has given
Peyton the background & knowledge to give your horse the best
possible care. In addition to a biology degree, Peyton received
certification from Colorado State's reknown Equine Breeding/A.I.
Program. He is also an USEF recognized judge for Saddlebred,
  Hackney, Roadster & Saddleseat Equitation.

ANNE

Anne spent 30 + years working & competing  American                            Saddlebreds & Quarter Horses. Competition days long past -  Anne now runs the boarding operation with Peyton and teaches a few lessons.  An A.R.I.A. certified instructor in both Saddleseat Equitation and Western Pleasure, Anne has been teaching for 18 years.  She has a journalism degree which she finds is a tremendous asset for those that clean stalls for a living. Being married for 20 years to Peyton has certainly helped her skills in working with small children.

Our pasture boarded horses each have their own individual stall where they are locked in to eat twice daily. After the am & pm feeding - stalls are locked open to allow horses to use the barn as shelter. Pasture horses are fed a good quality fescue hay until the grass is in abundance. Pastures are 5+ acres and are limited to 5 horses pasture maximum.

Horses that are on full board are usually paired with a 'buddy' and are turned out daily in one of our many paddocks. Horses are bedded on shavings in 12 x 12 stalls that are cleaned daily.
Cedar Lake is home to dogs, horses, dogs, the neighboring watch donkey, dogs, and lots of terrific people who have a love of horses and nature in common. Did we mention dogs? It is our home as well as our business so we do our best to keep a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. You only need a horse and a sense of humor to join us! If you need the horse please email us - we hear about good ones for sale occasionally. If you need the sense of humor - we can recommend other barns in our area where you might be happier!
